Power Percieved

"If it makes you happy,
it can't be that bad.
If it makes you happy,
then why the hell are you so sad?"
~Sheryl Crowe, If It Makes You

Hallelujah, Friends n' Neighbors. The doors to the Church of the Wayward Gypsy are open once again. Have a seat. Better yet, stay standing. We're gonna dance!

Joy and Sorrow. This world is full of woe. It's also full of beauty. More often than not, the difference in perception is our choice to make. Focus on the evening news and you'll end up desparing at our little corner of the universe. Listen to the wind whispering back to the breeze, and you'll feel pretty damned good about it.

Live in joy. Live in the moment. Find your Laughing Place.

"And the fire fades away,
and most of every day
is filled with tired excuses,
when it's too hard to say,
I wish it were simple,
but we give up easily..."
KT Tunstall, Other Side of the World

No one can make you feel anything. (Thanks T-man! You have no idea how often I live by those words!) The choice is yours - how you percieve, how you react, how you project. Power perceived is power achieved. If you project the power of a joy-filled attitude (whether you truly feel it or not), those around you will be affected by it, and effected by it, and the texture of an entire day can change.

"When you take charge of your life, there is no longer need to ask permission of other people or society at large. When you ask permission, you give someone veto power over your life."
~Geoffrey F. Abert

Take charge of your own feelings. Find the joy in the day. It's there; it's always there. Listen to some great music. Dance all alone in your living room. Read something funny. Find it! Shake the squirrels out of your freekin' Apathy Tree.

"When you blame others, you give up your power to change."
~Douglas Noel Adams

Take back your own power. And when you do, why not choose to live in joy?

Someone say amen. Now, go forth and... SMILE, dammit.
